Ugh, what a night. On my way home this evening I came into a corner a little too hot but instead of stopping, I decided to follow this single track. Well ... damned if the thing didn't go a mile or so into the woods and just stop abruptly. So, of course, with this heavy, snowball-snow I got promptly stuck when trying to back up. I couldn't get the winch to work properly 'cause the cord kept popping loose and it was too dark to tell what was going on and pulling it backwards wasn't helping at any rate. Finally, I gave up and walked about three miles home to get the other snow machine and a shovel. In the end I ended up with my entire family at the site digging out this huge area right down to the ground so I could turn around. It was light out when I got stuck. I got home at 11pm

A crash course in the techniques of getting unstuck eh.
There's definately as much technique in getting unstuck as there is in not getting stuck.
Practice make perfect.
I'm glad I did all my training when I was 7 or 8 years old. lol

Yeah, problem was there was no room to turn around. I could move forward but not backwards. I won't risk blowing out my back trying to pick it up so it all has to be done under power.
It was a lot of digging ...

Single track trail that dead ends, no room to turn around, sounds like an alien abduction to me. I am going to check for a missing sledder.
