Got a call from Chris Bondi today. The heads and cylinders are complete. Porting is done and valves are shimmed. Parts order sent into Mission Cycle. A custom machined Rottweiler airbox should be completed in a couple of weeks by Cosentino Engineering. Road trip Wed with PS-RagE to get everything and drop his 1190 off for the post break in UNLEASHING of all that horse power!
The V-Twins will be back on the pegs in 2014 baby!

Anyone in the Sudbury area does their own maintenance on ktm 950/990 adventure ? Just got back from my 1st oil change since owning the bike and not so sure I am thrilled about the cost $ 281.25. Wow ...... but the 670ks there and back was worth it

northernclaude: Always looking for an excuse to ride dirt to Sudbury!... My buddy who bought my last 950 lives near Onaping. He loves to ride and might be able to hook up with you. If not, I would be willing to help you through it. We have some great write ups on this site.
Dan... I haven't posted any updates in a while (work is crazy busy). I messed up the end gap on cylinder #2 piston ring and am now waiting for a new one. I should be back at it this week. I have a new headlight in to replace the one Dale broke last year following too close to a DR650! Once the timing is complete on the rear (#2) cylinder, I will be rebuilding the oil and water pumps and checking the clutch. Probably 2-4 weeks away from the first ride.

Late update... The heads are rebuild, ported and polished by Chris Bondi. Iron Robichard and I have rebuild the engine. PS-RagE and I have the bike back together waiting for a couple of hose clamps, oil and coolant. We are guessing the next garage night will see the first start up and 3 heat cycles before break in! I haven't rode a motorcycle at all this summer and am hoping to roosting in the next couple of weeks.
