It's been pretty quiet in here lately, and even I have only taken a few short rides in the past three weeks, nothing special to report...But this past weekend myself and a buddy decided to ride something different.
We left from here, the Confederation Arena, and rode the trail out the the Cowboy Lake area then crossed Pine Street and rode over to the Buffalo Ankerite Area via the snowmobile trails, once we got to the hill at the Ankerite we watched a plane flying at the Timmns Golden Hawks RC Flying Club, I must say a very skillful pilot!!!
We then decided to ride through the burn zone of the now notorious "Timmins 9 Fire" the devastation was unreal...It was a great ride with a wild mix of mud swamps and rock climbing, very technical and not for a beginner rider for sure...
After riding throught the burn we came out at HWY 101 and crossed onto Carium Road, figuring we could cruise around the back of Pearl Lake, be we didn't find any trails and we tried one an encountered a biga$$ed black bear, neither of us were into passing him so we doubled back and hit the trails in the Cowboy Lake area again, eventually coming to a beaver dam at Miller Lake...
All in all a great day of riding lots of trails and some very techinical terrain!!! I love this city!!
BTW if anyone knows how to make a complete loop of the city via Pearl Lake or Rae Hill please post up!!!

You're right, it has been quiet in here. Post up before you ride next time... If I catch it in time, I may tag along. This past weekend would have been a great excuse to tell the wife why NOT to paint!
BTW, I know you can loop quite easily by continuing right up around South Porc via Murphy's Rd... as to cutting across the north side near Pearl Lake, there is trails coming off Carium Road but I'm pretty sure alot of the access is fenced off or restricted... you might have an easier time coming through Schumacher (Lakeshore Lane), crossing at the Mac, and looping behind Casey's back to 655.
