Finally back from the cottage and able to get the photos on the site.
Ride4Fun, Verman, Norm and I met at Tim's in South Porcupine at 8:30 am for a ride to Cochrane. Took the scenic route through Connaught, on to Iroquois Falls and up the North West Industrial Road to the abandoned rail line 31 kms north. Took the rail line toward Cochrane and got off at Norembega, over to Kennedy Road, northward to Gardiner, across the Abitibi River on the (free) Ferry then down to Cochrane for lunch. Got to try out the new taller windshield on the KLR and was pleased that it did make a difference.
After lunch, Norm left us so that he could attend his campsite at Bigwater lake. The rest of us took Hwy 572 east to the four corners (Detour/Quebec/Iroquois Falls) and back to I.Falls, over to Montieth and Shillington then home. 480 kms in all and a great day, ride and weather wise. The day was so bright that I could not see the screen on the digital point and shoot camera and did not realize it was on B&W mode, kinda gives it the old fashioned feel.
Open grated bridge over the Abitibi just north of I.Falls
Abandoned rail line crossing NW Industrial Road.
Sucker River Bridge on Kennedy Road (not sure what Dave is up to in the second photo?)
Rabbit that was faster than the BRP
Lunch at JR's in Cochrane

There really is no dark side of the moon, in fact it's all dark.
